Harry Sweeden. My life in verse.

Step out side my body

I wondered what it would be like...to step outside my body?

to be free of all the constraints we humans face

to float above the tree tops and see the earth stretched out below me

and try to understand this human race?

We talk openly of compassion but show little to those in need

and hear the same old excuses time and time again…

still the wealthy get even wealthier flaunting all they have

building rockets for a joyride is just insane.

As I float above our nations I see fires burning fiercely

the clouds so thick that they blot out the shining sun

some rivers overflowing, over whelming everything

others so dry that life has been undone.

I see the atmosphere high above me protecting my small world

but it is straining so very hard to protect us all

on the ground we still have nations fighting for their glory?

But the truth is that in war its all of life that has to take the fall.

I see a world so very beautiful but with misery and despair

I see hope crushed beneath the weight of all we know

the human mind is boundless and not governed by nations borders

why is it that war seems to be the only way we grow?

If we could all just step outside our bodies be free of life’s constraints...

would we all view our world in a completely different way?

Or would there still be those mindless haters, those greedy money takers

who care not if it’s the world that has to pay?
