Do you not know that all of us,
Who have been baptized into Christ;
Were baptized into death as thus,
When on the cross was sacrificed.
We were buried along with Him,
By baptism into His death;
And was raised with spiritual vim,
Glory given life with new breath.
For if we have been united,
Having a death like His with Him;
We are sure to be invited,
About no longer feeling grim.
We know that we were crucified,
No more of a body of sin;
And God making us sanctified,
For eternal life to begin.
No one who has died is set free,
And no longer enslaved to sin;
As the Father who will decree,
Erasing the life that had been.
Now if we have died within Christ,
We believe that we also live;
No longer we will be enticed,
Since our past God will forgive.
We know Christ was raised from the dead,
Knowing we never die again;
Waking us up from the death bed,
No longer with the stench of sin.
For the death He had died in sin,
But the life He lives unto God;
For a new life that we will win,
Rejoicing to honor and laud.
So consider yourself as dead,
To the sin and alive in Christ;
As we are spiritually fed,
And to be heavenly enticed.
