I stayed in an abusive marriage for 11 years and this is my own story...I almost published my own pictures but the memories of my marriage are to hard to deal with... Please lets not be silent and report domestic violence... Never ignore the "Silent Victim" I am now married to a wonderful man, my James
This poem is about my ex-husband.. James and I have a beautiful blessed marriage...
The emergency room doctor accepted my statement
" My bruises and cuts are a result of a fall"
I feared humiliation and continued lying
Until I broke down and I suffered and cried
The honey moon had vanished in three months of marriage
His hands were imprinted all over my arms
"Why don't you leave him the doctor asked me"
We know the truth you're trying so hard to deny
What did you do to make your husband angry?
You do understand his violence will not be minimized
It will increase and you will visit us often
Let's take a statement and let's change your life
"Thank you but I'll go home and make it work doctor"
He is not abusive he had a stressful night
My husband waited for me with red roses and candles
I did not brake my silence I continued this life
A week passed and the neighbors heard my screams
But they did not get involve in our personal lives
They raised the TV volume and ignored my cries
The honey moon lasted this time only six nights
