A Soul Marathon

Boy I haven't seen your soul
Only glimmers of it's surface
How can one know where to go
If I can't find our purpose

Disguised in darkness
Affection and feels
Can't figure out what's false
Can't figure out what's real

But boy you've had walls so high
With cracks I've seen you conceal
Does your heart break easily?
How deep do you feel?

Blind me love!
Many years of heaving pain
All this confusion
Is it all just in vain?

Lust me crazy
Lust me lost
I'm paying a big toll
Quite a heavy cost

But boy I haven't seen your soul
Only glimmers of it's surface
I think I must let you go,
You've been hiding it on purpose

Only the vulnerable
Make it past this line
This clock keeps ticking
And we're running out of time

To be fair I know
My own soul I keep
But it's always been unlocked
There for you to see

But boy I haven't seen your soul
Only glimmers of it's surface
Really…. I just need to go
Then it won't hurt us

Boy let go,
Boy please let go
It's all because
You've hid your soul
